Hi!
I am brand new to Automata and I hope someone can help me understand the measurements in the book ??Movable Illustration? by Aquio Nishida. In the patterns for example on page 83 it gives a scale 1:1, but what scale is good for making these Automata, also the dimensions of T15X1 (what does is mean) and a small circle with a line one side to the other it with a number. What measurement is this and how to convert to inches? And what is the thickness of the pieces? Also is there any English text to this book on the Web?
I hope I am not asking you too much. I do some wood working, scroll sawing and wood carving and enjoyed it, but when I saw Automata for the first time I knew this is what I had to do. I am a retired Civil Engineer by trade and this does interest me.
Also, would suggest any additional books.
Thanks and Happy New Year to you and yours.
