To Fly a Kite

To Fly a KiteThe kite flies to and fro, watched at every turn by the keen kite flyer below.

Mechanisms: The rotation of the crank is transferred on a friction wheel by two cams and is transformed into movement of the head, turning from the right to the left and back again. A crank slider makes the kite swing from side to side and up and down. The arms which are fixed to the kite by a string are raised and lowered by the movement of the kite – size of the assembled model: 14 x 6 x 36 cm.

Designed by Walter Ruffler. Difficulty: Medium.
