Egyptian Shaduf
In Pharaoh’s times: The Egyptian peasant eagerly lifts the water from the Nile to his high-lying field, while the crocodile lies in wait. Nowadays they mostly use motor pumps.
In reality the counter weight of Nile mud helped to lift the water. In the model the rotation of the crank is converted into the oscillating motion of the shaduf lever, the jaw of the crocodile will be opened by a bell crank lever.
