Museum Boerhaave, Leiden, Netherlands

Museum BoerhaaveOpen 28th April 2011 to 1st September 2011

The Museum Boerhaave is the Netherlands’ National Museum of the History of Science and Medicine.
As the national treasury of scientific endeavours, the museum shows some 400 years of advances in knowledge. Developments in the various sciences can be viewed in 24 rooms on two levels. Curators Marieke Meijers and Tim Huisman are integrating CMT automata with many pieces from the museum’s collection of bizarre medical machines. The exhibition includes a new commission from Paul Spooner inspired by the Boerhaave machines, and a new tryptich from Pascale Michalski.
